5 in 1, as a design collective takes a collaborative approach to communication design engagements. We listen to our clients and then put together the proper talent to accommodate the needs of the project in a manner that is both stylistically relevant and strategically effective. This gives us the opportunity to not be tied down to one particular design style or philosophy, but leveraging flexibility to accommodate Client needs. We believe in partnerships with our clients, because partnerships lend to creative synergy, which then lend s itself to better design. From our first conversation with a Client, we take aim at what the firm stands for. We want to understand what drives the needs of the organization and become invested into the idea. We open ourselves up to listening and learning, which humbles our own design tendencies and allows us to become partners in the ideology behind the Client’s vision. We do not fancy ourselves to be the final answer to a Client’s design needs, but rather a catalyst to stimulate the design process into achieving the overall vision. We have many Clients that come to us and say “We’re hiring you because we don’t have a creative bone in our body.” This is in fact a major fallacy, since the Client vision is what allows for us to do our jobs. Without creative business decisions, there can never be creative design solutions. It is important for the Client to understand that we do have an idea and awareness of the impact and importance of design on the success of your company. With that, there needs to be a level of mutual trust and understanding towards our capabilities. We strive to leave the ego behind us and to do whats right for the project and the intended target audience. Mutually exclusive for both parties involved.
